If you are looking to join a well-established team, then the opportunity as a Head of Compliance would be a great career move. The chosen candidate should have the following responsibilities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ongoing monitoring and oversight of regulatory development relevant to the activities of the company in Cyprus.
- Informing relevant decision makers of the relevant legal and regulatory updates; providing quarterly reporting to the Board.
- Communication with and reporting to CySEC.
- Monitoring of the CySEC reporting schedule for all activities of the Company including Finance, Dealing and Customer facing i.e. complaints.
- Revising procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
- Compliance monitoring quarterly review of all company operations, in line with the regulatory guidelines and audit findings.
- Supervision of Customer Facing Department for complaints handling and verification.
- Oversight and approval of any marketing materials.
- Oversight and approval of any verification-related training.
- Supervision of the AML Compliance Function, especially for client onboarding and verification.
- Ensuring the company has appropriate structure and governance, of which CySEC is notified.
- Approval of Corporate accounts & PEPs.
- Cooperation with Legal Department on maintaining the company’s T&Cs up to date with the relevant legislation.
- Cooperation with the Product and Ops team to ensure the Compliance function has the necessary reports required for ongoing monitoring.
- Independent function, reporting directly to the Board.
- Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks.
- University degree in Finance or Law.
- A minimum of 3 years’ previous job experience in a related field.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with MIFID directives & CySEC regulations.
- Advanced CySEC certificate is a must.
- Open to creative solutions & business innovation; a team player.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; must be comfortable to communicate with the senior management, directors and the regulator.
- Strong verbal skills with full fluency in English with Greek being advantageous.
