For a big Oil & Energy Company in Larnaca we are looking for an IT System Engineer to manage, maintain and administer a secure, reliable, and smooth running global IT Infrastructure environment (Nexus) in line with The Company's business requirements, provide IT Infrastructure consultancy services towards 3rd party system vendors The Company's Technical department. The Global IT System Engineer will be member of the ITank Infrastructure team which operates with team members of which some are geographically spread around the world, located at several terminals.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
ITank structure and operation:
- Know ITank Nexus architecture, (infra)structure and operational directions
- Know The Company's Compliance and policies, adhere to these policies when fulfilling his/her work
- Know ITank ITGC-controls; adhere and implement these policies when fulfilling his/her work 4. Fulfil personal as well as departmental objectives and targets.
HSE:
- Perform the work with proper care and accuracy, take necessary precautions and act in compliance with binding company rules (environment, fire safety, life-saving rules)
- Eliminate non-conformities within the framework of his/her responsibility and competence at his/her initiative in due course / report/signal non-?conformities in due course where it is appropriate.
IT infrastructure:
- Have an in-depth knowledge about Nexus backend hardware, software
- Have a detailed knowledge about the Nexus architecture and configuration (low-level design)
- Plan and monitor efficient load balancing of virtual resources to assure optimal performance of application systems
- Configure, test, install, maintain, administer and update servers and work stations
- Conduct changes to improve system, network configurations according to identified software and/or hardware requirements resulting from business process optimization
- Warrant the scalability, security, availability and future readiness of the Nexus environment in order to optimally support the business
- Solve problems with Nexus performance and cope efficiently with emergencies
- Identify (potential) problems with the hardware, and software used at The Company
- Perform back-ups and data recovery in accordance with the The Company' IT Security Policy
- Perform Nexus rollouts on a global scale
Software Development:
- Perform software packaging based on Microsoft App-V or MSI based installations
- Troubleshoot applications in depth and solve issues by changing registry / configuration files
Support:
- Join the on-call schedule for 2nd line support towards 1st line T Support
- Share professional expertise and provide advice pertaining to the IT field
Documentation:
- Create and maintain ITank Nexus procedures, design documentation and other documents associated with the work duties
- Report and record Nexus incidents (P1/P2)
Knowledge Management:
- Build and maintain professional expertise
- Share expertise with other professionals within the ITank Infrastructure and 1st line support team
- Participate and share in technical sessions with other professionals
Requirements
- Relevant IT education (bachelor)
- 5+ Years' experience as IT System Engineer, preferably gained in a service oriented working environment
- Expert and current knowledge of: Microsoft Server (2012/2016), Microsoft Windows (7/10), Microsoft Office365, Microsoft App-?V, Microsoft System Center,Citrix XenDesktop , VMWare vSphere (5.5 / 6.), HP Products (ProLiant / MSA / 3Par)
- Knowledge of working in a Scrum team 2
- Experience with installation and configuration of: Immidio Flex / VMware UEM, Check Point firewall, Cisco switching, Aruba networks wireless, Veeam Availability Suite
- Fluent in writing and speaking English language is essential for this position
